FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots and run-stuffing defensive tackle Davon Godchaux have agreed to a two-year extension worth up to$ 21 million that includes$ 16.5 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Godchaux, 29, was entering the last month of his contract. He had been scheduled to earn a base salary of$ 7.15 million, with the chance to earn an additional$ 1 million in per-game roster bonuses, and previously said he was looking for more respect.

Godchaux made reference to Grover Stewart‘s three-year,$ 39 million contract as the goal, who also serves on a related roster for his crew.

” The run-player industry has gone up, too, not just the pass-rush market”, Godchaux said.

After learning on Sunday that they will be without starting defensive tackle Christian Barmore continuously due to blood clots, the Republicans were more interested in keeping Godchaux in area and without feeling negatively about his deal.

However, the lease position of outside linebacker Matthew Judon also hovers over the Patriots. Judon, who like Godchaux has publicly shared his feelings that his contract does n’t reflect his value, has n’t practiced the past two days and was away from the Patriots on Tuesday, according to teammates.

Judon has stated numerous times that he does n’t run his X account, but that the account with 132, 000 followers in his name has refuted reports that the Patriots have offered him since Tuesday.

As for Godchaux, he started all 17 games for the Patriots next year, playing 60 % of the slides and totaling 56 tackles and one bucket. Filters are a part of his job’s duty to allow teammates to play behind him.

Patriots first-year manager Jerod Mayo referred to Godchaux, who enters his third year in New England, as one of the player’s best people.

Since the season, the Patriots have signed 11 people new contracts or extended them. As part of that party, Barmore agreed to a four-year improvement that could be for up to$ 92 million and includes$ 41.8 million in guaranteed money.
